The legacy of Madiba and those who failed
As i sit here today, my mind wonders to the last time I celebrated Mandela Day. A day that had meaning for such a long time, where us as South Africans would celebrate the Legacy of Nelson Mandela and all that he has done for South Africa. Will I be celebrating the once famous "Madiba spirit" "Ubuntu" unfortunately not. As a very famous and renowned radio host said not so long ago....The Ubuntu spirit no longer exists in South Africa, the legacy of Madiba is gone. Which is so true...and extremely a sad reality we have to come to terms with and we who still wish to uphold that legacy are paying the price of this new reality. A battle we tried our best to fight to keep the "Ubuntu" and Madiba Spirit alive and have greatly lost. So many people have for years "piggy backed" of Madiba legacy, what he fought for and stood for, for their personal gain. Not for the country and its people. Which is very reminiscent of so many things some take and hold ...
