Not just a project

We all get those school project with a "must have" list. Some even dread doing these project as it requires work outside of your classroom.

I want to encourage you to look further than just the project and the "must have" list so you can truly appreciate these projects and look forward to doing them as I do.

Firstly I have one big rule I apply when it comes to any project...ALWAYS THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX AND DON'T FOLLOW GOOGLE!

Since I was young and did my first project which was to tell a story and have an object that coincided with the story. It just so happened that at that time I watched Narnia for the first time. Thus started the beginning of how I would approach any project with the motto of thinking outside the box.

For that specific project I created my own Narnia story and in true form I build my own Narnia world to display. What I learned from that very first project is that if you allow yourself to explore more ideas and to think outside the box you grow your imagination. Imagination is extremely important for your growth journey and the more you allow yourself to expand your imagination the bigger your world becomes...Sort of just like Narnia when you walk through the cupboard door.

That was 3 years ago, these days I find myself seeing more in life than what there is. I will look at a tree and imagine it is something else..perhaps a cave, or I would create an adventure world in my own back yard...exploring caves,, going on long kayak ventures in the pool. All by just imagining thing I want to create. People easily forget in the world we live in now just how important imagination is, we so easily just follow a line and go by the same routine as everyday.

We blindly look at screens all day long, yearning for what we see, never stopping to imagine that perhaps we can create something magical in real life or fantasy. Imagination is extremely amazing as it helps you discover so much, follow some creative ventures and when you perhaps in a boo-boo mood something imaginative can lift your spirits up. IT certainly does mine.

Now I want to share with you a bit more on my latest project I had to do for school. Build a skeleton. OK< so i was sitting and pondering for awhile what and how, did some research on google, spoke to my class mates and it al l just seemed very dull as everyone was planning the same thing they saw on google...And there is no way I am the same as every one else. So I then went into my imagination and staring to think outside the box.

Results; absolutely amazing. As we had to use recycle materials, I looked around the house and found so many thing that I could use. Then I also realized that every day we give our dogs chicken, but not the bones...and then as i started the idea grew and grew.

Eventually I had an idea of what I wanted my project to look like and what I want to do. But I never knew just how much work will go into it. Yes added work. Which I don't really see as work because in the process I learned things I would never have learned otherwise. One was how to basically trim all the meat of very fine bones...yes all the meat because there was no way I could let rotten chicken bones in my class. Lol

So I learned how to delicately remove all flesh, marrow from the bones all while delicacy preserving the bones. Then after 2 days of struggling to dry the bones...i realized I could dry the bones in the air fryer which works brilliantly.

Let me tell you, keeping the spine perfectly in tact was quite something, but I did it.

From there i then decided to make use of an open box to make floating bones to add some creativity to my project and I added unique bones such as the "wish bone"

Building the skeleton was not easy, I had to be very precise, so good planning went into the project. That is something I know that projects teaches us, PLANNING. Taking something and plan well in advance, plan what you need, when you need etc.. When you young and you learn to plan things, your life becomes a lot easier as  you then can plan things, resulting in so many benefits that stems from good planning skills.

Once i got started
i allowed my mind to flow with the project, giving life to my project and i am extremely proud of the end result. Regardless of what marks I receive for my project, i learned alot from doing this project, i had fun and I am extremely proud of my work and there will never be anything that can take away what I have learned while doing this project.

Keep a look out perhaps you see it displayed somewhere... because I never follow the norm, I never do the mainstream google ideas and I always think outside the box.
